RISKWORLD will be hosted at the Moscone Center (MC), located at 747 Howard St, San Francisco, CA 94103.

The RIMS hotel block offers a range of hotels in terms of proximity, affordability and style to meet your needs and preferences. We’ve worked closely with the city and the hotels, and have been able to reduce room rates at some hotels by as much as 20%.

Housing Bureau

Connections Housing is the official housing bureau for RISKWORLD. In order to receive discounted room rates, reservations must be made through the housing bureau and not directly with hotels. Please be advised that RIMS has only one contracted and exclusive housing provider and that is Connections Housing.

IMPORTANT SCAM ALERT! Please be aware that some convention housing and expo travel agencies are fraudulently representing themselves as our “housing vendor” and contacting individuals to solicit business. Specifically, they will offer to make hotel reservations within RIMS’ block on your behalf, or even offer you a discount from RIMS.

RIMS is not utilizing the services of any housing service for RISKWORLD, other than the RIMS Official Housing Bureau, Connections Housing. Hotel reservations for RIMS should be made directly with the RIMS Official Housing Bureau, either by phone or via our web reservation link. The official conference hotels with guaranteed rates are listed on this website. If you provide your credit card information to any of these unauthorized vendors, your card may be charged but you may not have a reservation when you arrive in San Francisco.

Other housing providers may try to contact you and offer you a potential room that might not be guaranteed or available. Also, they may require reservations be fully prepaid, which are non-refundable and may be subject to steep cancellation and change fees.

If you are registered and need to book your hotel room at a later date, please refer back to your Registration Confirmation email or contact Connections Housing, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am ET – 7:00 pm ET at:

U.S./Canada/International: +1-404-842-0000

ABOUT SAN FRANCISCO

San Francisco and the Moscone Center

San Francisco is the cultural, financial and commercial center of Northern California. It is located at the top north of the San Francisco Peninsula in the San Francisco Bay Area and it is the fourth most populous city in California.

The city is a popular tourist destination in the US given its cool summers and architecture, especially for the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, the former Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary and the famous Chinatown district.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) averages 1,253 flights a day. It has flights to points throughout North America and is a major gateway to Europe and Asia. The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) provides direct rail transportation to downtown San Francisco, Oakland, and the East Bay.

Located in the urban heart of San Francisco's downtown district, The Moscone Center is easily accessible by transit. The neighborhood includes an impressive variety of nightclubs, restaurants, hotels, museums and more. It is the home of some must-see San Francisco attractions, including The Moscone Center, the Folsom Street Fair, and several museums and theater companies.

COVID-19 POLICY

To align with recent Covid-19 vaccination policy changes made by the San Francisco Health Department, RIMS Board Directors has agreed to amend the Society’s vaccination policy for RISKWORLD™.

The new RISKWORLD 2022 vaccination policy now requires attendees (including exhibitors) to satisfy one of the following criteria:

  1. If an attendee is up-to-date with their Covid-19 vaccinations (meaning vaccinated AND boosted), the attendee will NOT be required to produce a negative covid test result;

  2. If an attendee is up-to-date with their Covid-19 vaccinations but is NOT YET ELIGIBLE for the booster, the attendee will NOT be required to produce a negative covid test result;

  3. If an attendee is vaccinated, is ELIGIBLE for the booster but has NOT received the booster, the attendee will be required to produce a negative Covid-19 test result (within 48 hours of entering the Moscone Center for a PCR test; within 24 hours for an antigen test);

  4. If an attendee is not vaccinated for Covid-19, the attendee will be required to produce a negative Covid test result (within 48 hours of entering the Moscone Center for a PCR test; within 24 hours for an antigen test).

  5. International attendees or others who have received a Covid-19 vaccination that is not recognized by the CDC will be required to produce a negative Covid test result (within 48 hours of entering the Moscone Center for a PCR test; within 24 hours for an antigen test).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Home testing kits WILL NOT be accepted as proof of a negative Covid test.  As a convenience for attendees, Covid-19 testing will be provided from the San Francisco Marriott Marquis on Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10. Attendees who opt for on-site testing will be responsible for an administrative fee of $45 USD. Testing is not limited to the RIMS designated Marriott Marquis testing site. Attendees may also provide a proof of a negative test from an official testing center or laboratory.
  • Attendees who opt for on-site testing should recognize that they will not be admitted into the Moscone Convention Center until the lab confirms a negative result. Please plan accordingly.
  • RIMS will not provide conference registration fee or accommodation refunds to individuals who test positive.

  • Private businesses in San Francisco may have their own vaccination and/or masking requirements. Please plan accordingly.

RIMS has employed a third-party vendor that specializes in conducting health screenings, as well as validating the authenticity of vaccine documentation.  Registrants will receive an email to confirm their vaccination status in March.

RIMS Board of Directors and staff will continue to monitor the Covid-19 global pandemic and its impact on both domestic and international populations. Its leadership reserves the right to amend this vaccination policy accordingly. For questions about RIMS vaccination policy and/or eligibility to attend a RISKWORLD email events@RIMS.org.
