Connections Housing is the official housing bureau for RISKWORLD. In order to receive discounted room rates, reservations must be made through the housing bureau and not directly with hotels. Please be advised that RIMS has only one contracted and exclusive
housing provider and that is Connections Housing.
IMPORTANT SCAM ALERT! Please be aware that some convention housing and expo travel agencies are fraudulently representing themselves as our “housing vendor” and contacting individuals to solicit business. Specifically, they will offer to make hotel reservations within RIMS’ block on your behalf, or even offer you a discount from RIMS.
RIMS is not utilizing the services of any housing service for RISKWORLD, other than the RIMS Official Housing Bureau, Connections Housing. Hotel reservations for RIMS should be made directly with the RIMS Official Housing Bureau, either by phone or via our web reservation link. The official conference hotels with guaranteed rates are listed on this website. If you provide your credit card information to any of these unauthorized vendors, your card may be charged but you may not have a reservation when you arrive in San Francisco.
Other housing providers may try to contact you and offer you a potential room that might not be guaranteed or available. Also, they may require reservations be fully prepaid, which are non-refundable and may be subject to steep cancellation and change fees.
If you are registered and need to book your hotel room at a later date, please refer back to your Registration Confirmation email or contact Connections Housing, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am ET – 7:00 pm ET at:
Note: All attendee registrations must be active and paid in full at the start of the event, or your hotel accommodations will be cancelled.
San Francisco is the cultural, financial and commercial center of Northern California. It is located at the top north of the San Francisco Peninsula in the San Francisco Bay Area and it is the fourth most populous city in California.
The city is a popular tourist destination in the US given its cool summers and architecture, especially for the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, the former Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary and the famous Chinatown district.
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) averages 1,253 flights a day. It has flights to points throughout North America and is a major gateway to Europe and Asia. The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) provides direct rail transportation to downtown San Francisco, Oakland, and the East Bay.
Located in the urban heart of San Francisco's downtown district, The Moscone Center is easily accessible by transit. The neighborhood includes an impressive variety of nightclubs, restaurants, hotels, museums and more. It is the home of some must-see San Francisco attractions, including The Moscone Center, the Folsom Street Fair, and several museums and theater companies.
RIMS has implemented new guidelines that will require anyone who wishes to attend a RIMS in-person event to show that they are fully-vaccinated for COVID-19. The requirement is effective for all events managed by RIMS staff, including RISKWORLD, April 10-13 in San Francisco.
RIMS will adhere to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) definition of “fully vaccinated.” According to the CDC, people are considered fully vaccinated:
The vaccine requirement also applies to RIMS staff, vendors, sponsors, media, and other ancillary partners who plan to attend or provide a service at a RIMS event. While the Society will make no exceptions for religious or health exemptions, it will work with those impacted to develop an alternative virtual event experience. The Society is currently exploring third-party vendors that specialize in conducting health screenings, as well as validating the authenticity of vaccine documentation.
“RIMS events are world-renowned and have set the highest standard for delivering the best in risk management knowledge, solutions and opportunities,” said RIMS President Ellen Dunkin. “Under these current conditions and after a thorough review of event industry trends, our Board felt it was necessary to adopt these vaccination requirements. At the end of the day, it’s about the safety of our attendees and, as risk professionals, we believe this decision is the best option for RIMS to, once again, bring the world’s risk management community together.”
RIMS Board of Directors and staff will continue to monitor the COVID-19 global pandemic and its impact on both domestic and international populations. Its leadership reserves the right to amend this vaccination policy accordingly. For questions about RIMS vaccination policy and/or eligibility to attend a RIMS event, email CST@RIMS.org.
Mask Requirements: Our host venue for the conference, Moscone Convention Center and The City and County of San Francisco, will be requiring our attendees to wear masks or employ social distancing protocols, they must follow the vaccination requirements described above for indoor banquet rooms. Please keep this in mind as you plan for the conference. If you have been exposed to Covid-19 or are feeling sick, please stay home. Attendees who display any COVID-19 symptoms may be denied entry to the venue or, if already inside the venue, may be required to leave. Attendees must comply with instructions of venue personnel and health authorities, including any instructions to leave the venue or temporarily quarantine or isolate somewhere in the venue.
To request a letter of conference participation to RISKWORLD, you must be registered for the full conference and must be confirmed. Your registration is not confirmed until full payment is received.
