Speaker Service Center

To access your session(s) and add your speaker visit www.RIMS.org/SSC. You will be prompted to login with your email address and password.  If you don’t know your password, click on “Forgot your password.” If you are having difficulty and need assistance, please contact the Client Services Team at CST@RIMS.org or Speakers@RIMS.org.

 



  2020 Deadlines

January 2 - May 1

Registration (Before you can register, you must complete the three steps below.)

  1. RIMS Guidelines and Agreement: All Speakers/Risk Managers must review and sign off on the RIMS Session Guidelines and Agreement
  2. Biography and Photo: Upload a short biography and photo image size should be 100 x 125 pixels (W x H) 72 dpi. Format should be .gif or .jpg. (information will appear on RIMS website and mobile app).
  3. Contact Information: Speaker name, title and company (information will appear on RIMS website and mobile app).

 

Speaker Registration Rates

Speaker Registration: Speakers are encouraged to register for the Full Conference pass for US $500 (a savings of up to $800 off the advance rate). This pass will give you access to the entire conference (events, sessions, exhibit hall, breakfast/lunch) and to RIMS preferred housing. If you cancel your speaking engagement, RIMS will cancel your registration and your hotel room or you may contact the registration department rims_registration@goeshow.com and pay the difference in the registration rate. This rate is open to speakers and primary contacts.

 

If you do not want to register for the full conference and would like to attend the day you are speaking, you can register for a Speaker One Day pass for US $250. This pass will give you access to sessions, exhibit hall, meals and events on the day of speaking. Note: You can only register for this rate on the day of your speaking engagement. This rate is open to speakers and the primary contacts.

 

Speakers not required to register for the conference. Non-registered speakers will be given a clear badge to only access rooms they are speaking in.

February 7

Confirm Speaker(s) and Risk Manager: To ensure the correct information appears on the RIMS website and mobile app. Edit/add/remove (if over the speaker limit) and review your speaker(s) contact information (name, title, company).

 

Your session length dictates the number of speakers permitted to present.

  • 60 minutes – A maximum of two (2) speakers. One speaker must be a risk manager.
  • 90 minutes – A maximum of three (3) speakers. One speaker must be a risk manager.
  • 20 minutes – One (1) speaker. 
    Note: If your 60-minute submission was accepted for 20 minutes, please abide by the speaker limitation. Speakers have 18 minutes to present, 2 minutes for Q&A and 10 or less PowerPoint slides.
  • Only one (1) representative from a company is permitted to be a speaker on a session.
  • All speakers should be qualified in the subject matter to share knowledge and experience.

Role of a Risk Manager 
Risk management professionals lead the development and implementation of risk management practices that enable an organization to make risk-effective decisions that create and sustain value. 

Note: You will not have access to the session title, description and learning objectives. These were copyedited to fit into the program and will be promoted on the RIMS website and mobile app. (Your session was accepted based on the content of your submission. However, if there are updates that are relevant to the topic, contact your Annual Conference Programming Committee to discuss or speakers@RIMS.org).

February 14

Session Agenda/Outline: Your session was copy edited to fit into the printed program, website and mobile app. To ensure you utilize the time frame assigned, we ask that you outline the time, speaker and topic each speaker will speak on.

 

For 60/90-minute sessions only. Your Annual Conference Programming Committee liaison will review each outlines to ensure the topic is aligned with what is published in the program. Tutorial on how to upload your outline

March 6

Audiovisual Requirements: Each session room is equipped for presentation management and have the following: LCD/screen, microphones, laptop and Wi-Fi.


April 17

PowerPoint/Handouts

Upload your PowerPoint presentation and handouts by the given deadline so attendees can download copies onto their laptop, RIMS mobile app or PDA ahead of the session.

 

All PowerPoint Presentations will be managed from one central e-library in the Speaker Center located in The Colorado Convention Center, Room 301-302. In order for your presentation to appear in Presentation Management, you will need to upload all presentations/articles etc. by the given deadline. The format must be in PowerPoint and on the RIMS template.

 

If there are changes to your presentation after the deadline, save your updated presentation on a USB and bring it to the Speaker Center.

 

It is MANDATORY that you use the RIMS 2020 Conference template for presentations.

Presenter(s) will have 18 minutes to present and 2 minutes for Q&A. You must finish your presentation within the time frame given so that the next presenter can start and conclude on schedule.
