SAFETY AT RISKWORLD 2025

The well-being of RISKWORLD attendees is a top priority for RIMS. Each year, RIMS contracts with third-party consultants to implement best practices in safety and security at RISKWORLD. RIMS works closely with local police, public safety, and city officials to ensure a safe and productive RISKWORLD experience.

Below are some helpful tips, McCormick Place Convention safety services and practices, as well as a listing of local emergency facilities:

SAFETY AT MCCORMICK PLACE CONVENTION CENTER

  1. Should an emergency occur during the conference, RIMS will issue push notifications via the RISKWORLD Mobile App, by email, and by SMS to your mobile phone.

  2. Safety at McCormick Place Convention Center.

  3. Safety Tips for Business Travelers.

  4. Remove your RISKWORLD registration badge when you leave the convention center.

  5. Sharing your RISKWORLD conference badge is strictly prohibited. Sharing the badge weakens on-site security and prevents RIMS from reaching your emergency contact(s) if needed.

  6. If you lose your RISKWORLD badge, please notify a RIMS staff member immediately. Staff members will always be available in the registration and in RIMS HQ inside of McCormick Place.

  7. RIMS provides shuttle service to and from hotels to the convention center, as well as to the Opening Reception. Please use the RISKWORLD shuttle service for access between your hotel and the convention center. Consider ride share services for late night and early morning events and meetings. Information about RISKWORLD Shuttle Buses will be available on the RISKWORLD Mobile App.

  8. All access points to McCormick Place will have registration kiosks and security. You must be fully registered for RISKWORLD and have an official RISKWORLD badge to go anywhere inside the convention center, including sponsored hospitality spaces and meeting rooms.

  9. When walking, stick to well-lit, busy areas. Don’t be distracted with your cell phone.

  10. Do not display hotel guestroom keys in public.

  11. It is highly recommended for guests to only use the main entrance of their hotels.

  12. If you see something, say something. McCormick Place Security Command Center is staffed twenty-four hours a day. Call (312) 791-6060

  13. RISKWORLD employs a Conference Code of Conduct that can viewed here.

RISKWORLD 2025 COVID-19 POLICY

RIMS and the McCormick Place Center will work in tandem to ensure the Convention is safe and clean. Since the pandemic’s onset, the facility has increased its cleaning and sanitation schedules and has installed additional hand sanitizing stations.

The RISKWORLD 2025 COVID-19 policy will mirror the policy of the local jurisdiction. Currently, there are no COVID-19 mandates in Chicago. However, if that changes, RIMS will notify all attendees.
