CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

At RIMS, we take pride in our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and community building. Sustainability is a key focus in our event planning, and we work closely with our vendor partners to embed eco-conscious strategies throughout. From recyclable badges to the significant reduction of printed materials, including agendas, session guides, and directories, we are shifting toward a digital-first experience.  Our continued investment in a dynamic, user-friendly mobile app reflects this evolution, helping us deliver greener, smarter events.

NEW!!
In keeping with our commitment to sustainability, we will no longer be producing the conference bag. Remember to bring a bag to collect your RISKWORLD 2026 SWAG!

Speaking of swag, our Exhibitors will have the option to donate their leftover swag through one of the Pennsylvania Convention Center’s reuse and recycling programs.

NEW!!
The colorful branded banners at RISKWORLD help bring the conference to life!  This year, post-conference, we will donate them to local farmers who will transform them into protective tarps for equipment covers, field covers and other farming needs. Instead of ending up in landfills, these durable materials will continue to serve the local agricultural community.

The City of Philadelphia is one of the most accessible and walkable convention cities in the nation, offering convenience and connectivity. We have secured approximately 4,000 hotel rooms within walking distance of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, eliminating the need for daily shuttle service from these hotels. This initiative not only simplifies your travel but also supports our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint.

The City of Philadelphia has established the Office of Sustainability (OOS).  It works with partners around the city to improve the quality of life in all of Philadelphia’s diverse neighborhoods. They work to advance environmental justice, progress Philadelphia’s climate and energy goals and prepare the city for a hotter and wetter future.

For more information on the four divisions that carry out the OOS programs, policies and strategies, please visit four divisions.

Pennsylvania Convention Center, Location to come

RIMS has partnered with Pathways to Housing on this year's Community Project. We are proud to have ESIS sponsor again this year.

Pathways to Housing empowers unhoused people with disabilities to reclaim their lives by providing stable housing, supportive services, and a caring community. In 2008, Pathways to Housing partnered with Philadelphia officials to address chronic homelessness. Today they house more than 550 individuals in regular apartments throughout Philadelphia with a retention rate of 86% an unprecedented success in the field.

What We Will Do: Create Hygiene Kits for the Unhoused

Hygiene kits are always in great demand by organizations that work with individuals and families in crises.

The kits include essential hygiene items such as toothbrushes/toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, and ready-to-eat food kits.

Industry-Leading Food & Beverage Practices and Community Engagement

Aramark – the exclusive caterer at the Pennsylvania Convention Center (PCC) works to donate surplus food to the local Philly community by collaborating with organizations like the Sunday Breakfast Rescue MissionValley Youth House's Achieving Independence Center, the Share Food Program's Philly Food RescueSharing Excess, and Food Connect.

The process involves:

  • Identifying Surplus Food: After events, the Aramark team and the Convention Center staff identify untouched, surplus perishable food items that meet safety guidelines for donation.
  • Partnering with Nonprofits: They coordinate with local food rescue and hunger relief organizations to collect the food.
  • Distribution: These partner organizations, such as the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission (an emergency homeless shelter) and the Valley Youth House, then distribute the food to individuals and families facing food insecurity in the Philadelphia area.
  • Broader Initiatives: Beyond event-specific donations, Aramark also provides financial and logistical support to city-wide programs, such as the City of Philadelphia's "One Philly Produce Project," which delivers fresh fruits and vegetables to schools and community centers.

This multi-faceted approach helps reduce food waste at the convention center while providing meals and fresh produce to the local community.
