As part of its ongoing Professional Development initiative, RIMS, the Risk Management Society™, will present the following workshops and webinars in the month of June:

 

INTEGRATING ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT & STRATEGIC PLANNING

June 3 – 4, 2013

Columbia Tower Club - Seattle

This workshop will focus on aligning Enterprise Risk Management with organizational strategic goals and objectives, as well as techniques to add value by exploiting the upside of risk.  Participants will learn steps to conducting strategic risk and scenario planning to help take their risk management programs to the next level.

ENTERPRISE-WIDE RISK MANAGEMENT: DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING

June 3 – 5, 2013

The Pyramid Club – Philadelphia

Participants will acquire an understanding of the ERM process, as well as ERM strategies and tools to help develop plan.  The workshop will provide case studies, check-lists and hands-on exercises that cover each step of an ERM program.

BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT: PROMOTE AND PROTECT ENTERPRISE VALUE

June 10 – 11, 2013

The City Club – Washington, DC

Participants will learn how to create a business continuity plan tailored for their organization, strategies to communicate the plan’s merits to all stakeholders, and best practices to monitor the program’s effectiveness.

CONTRACTUAL RISK TRANSFER

June 10 – 11, 2013

The Tower Club – Dallas

This workshop will address commercial contracts and insurance policies as risk transfer vehicles relating to commercial insurance, insured agreements, indemnity agreements and captive insurance.

WEBINAR: STRATEGIC RISK MANAGEMENT: DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING A SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM

June 11, 2013 - 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. ET

Hear a panel of Strategic Risk Management (SRM) experts describe this interdisciplinary approach, its significance to the strategic planning and strategy execution processes, as well as best practices, tools and techniques for successful implementation.

Panelists: Andrew Bent, Risk Coordinator, Suncor Energy (NYSE/TSX: SU); Ward Ching, Vice President, Risk Management Operations, Safeway Inc.; and Carol A. Fox, ARM, RIMS Director of Strategic and Enterprise Risk Practice.

 

WEBINAR: MULTINATIONAL POOLING OF EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

June 27, 2013 - 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. ET

Presented by RIMS International Committee, a panel of risk management experts will explore ways for risk professionals to select and manage a multinational pool employee benefits program, the opportunities for using captives in pooling, as well as factors that should be assessed in order to determine whether pooling is right for an organization.

Moderator: Karen Berigan is the Vice President of Corporate Risk Management from Crown Holdings, Inc. Panelists: Karin Landry is the Managing Partner at Spring Consulting Group, LLC; Joseph A.
