Risk Management Tool Helps Practitioners Enter New Markets & Expand Globally

NEW YORK (May 20, 2014)As organizations become more global, risk practitioners need a better understanding of the rules and regulatory issues in the countries they’re entering.  To help its members advance their organizations’ risk programs, RIMS, the risk management society™, has worked with Zurich to provide the Society’s Professional Members with free access to the Zurich Multinational Insurance Application (MIA).

Zurich MIA helps risk management professionals analyze coverage options, allowing them to make more informed decisions upon entering international markets.  Zurich MIA covers 180 countries and territories and, for 42 lines of business, MIA is updated with:

  • Out of territory insurance laws & regulations
  • Insurance premium taxes
  • Regulations related to Insurance related activities such as

o   Premium Payment

o   Claims Payment

o   Loss Adjustment

o   Risk Engineering Activities

RIMS International Committee reviewed the Zurich Multinational Insurance Application and determined that access to this resource would be highly valuable to the Society’s members. The Committee worked with Zurich to make the resource available, for free, for RIMS Professional Members – a membership category comprising commercial insurance buyers.

Eligible RIMS members can access Zurich MIA in RIMS International Center for Risk Management by selecting Global Insurance Requirements Database.  Zurich has published a YouTube video about the resource that can be viewed here.
