NEW YORK (June 14, 2016) — RIMS President Julie C. Pemberton has been invited by RIMAS and Business Continuity Planning Asia (BCP Asia) to keynote the Asia Risk & Resilience Conference (ARRC) 2016 in Singapore scheduled for August 24 – 26 2016 at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre. Ms. Pemberton, who is also the director of enterprise risk and insurance at Outerwall Inc., will deliver remarks titled, “How Board Members/Senior Management Can Assure Adequacy & Effectiveness of ERM.”
As part of the conference’s Corporate Governance educational track, Ms. Pemberton will discuss the evidential connection between the effectiveness found in more mature ERM programs and firm value, highlighting the attributes and drivers that define a well-managed ERM program. Her session will also explore strategies for risk professionals to demonstrate the value of their risk programs to key stakeholders within the organization.
At Outerwall, Ms. Pemberton partners with the senior leadership to execute global enterprise risk management processes. Her team is also responsible for insurance program design and placement in various coverage areas, as well as business due diligence initiatives, as needed. Prior to Outerwall, Ms. Pemberton held a similar position at Chiquita Brands International, Inc.
“Risk professionals around the world are challenged to understand, manage and, when they can, leverage opportunities that today’s evolving risk landscape presents,” said Ms. Pemberton. “I am looking forward to sharing RIMS’ thought-leading research and perspective with Singapore’s thriving risk management community. It is an honor to join Business Continuity Planning Asia for this inaugural event.”
“Building a comprehensive corporate governance structure for the organization is every Risk & BCM manager’s responsibility. Participants of ARRC 2016 can learn from industry experts like Ms. Julie Pemberton from RIMS while being reassured of their own program. I believe this will be beneficial to all participants of ARRC 2016.” As mentioned by Mr. Henry Ee, Honorary Secretary, RIMAS & Managing Director, BCP Asia.
