(NEW YORK) April 23, 2024 – RIMS, the risk management society®, is asking the risk community to help give back to San Diego’s most vulnerable. The RISKWORLD Community Service Project, sponsored by ESIS (a Chubb Company), will help support Sharia’s Closet, a San Diego nonprofit dedicated to providing children, teens, and adults with clothing and other everyday essentials.
At RISKWORLD, risk professionals will assemble hygiene kits for Sharia’s Closet that will be made available at no cost to locals who rely on the charity’s services. Established in 2013, Sharia’s Closet has supported nearly 50,000 individuals, building their self-esteem and self-identity and empowering them to succeed in school, on job interviews, and overcome adversity. HandsOn San Diego, a local nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen the community through volunteer action, coordinated this project for RISKWORLD.
**A hygiene kit assembly station will be on the second floor of the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC) during RISKWORLD on May 6 and 7. All registered RISKWORLD attendees are invited to participate**
