Emerging Risks

Virtual Workshop

In today’s rapidly evolving landscape, traditional risk assessments often miss newly developing or evolving threats. The Emerging Risks Workshop is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to proactively identify, assess, and develop strategies to mitigate these emerging risks. This workshop emphasizes a forward-thinking approach to risk management, focusing on risks that are not yet fully understood or apparent.

Part 1 will cover the foundational processes of managing emerging risks. Participants will be introduced to key terms and concepts, followed by an exploration of the emerging risk process. Interactive exercises will help participants understand the role of organizational resilience and culture in risk management, and how to incorporate risk management into strategic decision-making.

Part 2 will delve into the tools and techniques essential for managing emerging risks. Participants will learn about risk taxonomy, future casting, and premortem analysis. The day will also cover key risk indicators (KRIs), cognitive biases, and the use of consequence/probability matrices. Practical exercises will align emerging risks with organizational goals, ensuring participants can apply these techniques in real-world scenarios.
