NEW YORK (18 November, 2019) — Days ahead of RIMS Risk Forum India 2019, the Society announced the appointment of N.K.V. Roop Kumar as chair of RIMS Regional Advisory Group in India. RIMS Regional Advisory Groups comprise dedicated risk management influencers who generously volunteer their time, experience and network to advance the profession while identifying opportunities for RIMS to support the local business community. Currently, RIMS has Regional Advisory Groups in India, Singapore and China.

Mr. Roop kumar brings more than 30 years experience in the risk management and insurance professions and is currently the EVP & Chief of Risk, Info & Cyber Security Management of SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. As chair, Mr. Roop Kumar will be responsible for maintaining and further establishing the Regional Advisory Group in India, as well as guiding RIMS’ strategy and initiatives in the region.

On 22 November, RIMS second annual RIMS Risk Forum 2019 India in Mumbai will explore opportunities for businesses to more confidently and effectively address dynamic business risks in the country. Judging criteria includes the scope of the ERM program; how effective it is at engaging people throughout the organization; the program’s link or connection to the company’s overall mission; and its ability to create additional value for the organization.  Last year, the inaugural award was presented to SBI Life Insurance Co. Ltd.
