Eligibility

Any Canadian risk professional can pursue their CRM designation. To earn the CRM designation, candidates must complete three foundational courses and pass a standardized exam for each course.​

How to Earn the CRM

  1. Enroll in each foundational course at an approved CRM Course Provider.
  2. Register for each standardized exam through RIMS:
    • Navigate to the CRM Exam Registration page, select an exam, and pay the exam fee. If you do not have a RIMS account, you will be prompted to create one.
    • RIMS will provide virtual exam instructions via email within two weeks of processing the exam registration fee. Follow the instructions to complete the exam.
    • Receive a passing score of 70% or higher on all three exams. Notice of pass or fail is provided immediately upon completion of the exam.
  3. Email an official copy of your transcripts or grade reports for all three courses to  CRM@rims.org.
  4. RIMS will issue an invoice via email for the $100 USD designation fee.
  5. Your CRM digital badge will be issued within two weeks of the designation fee payment.
